Helpful Tips & Reminders
In-App Chat & Key Incident Workflow
Feedback is reviewed, but converting feedback into a "Key Incident" quickly notifies the league.
An "Incident chat" feature enables coaches and the league to have dialogue within the app about an incident.
You can log in to track "KI (Key Incident)" resolution within the app.
You can supplement their "KI" with video links or by uploading photos.
Feedback for Officials
All feedback submitted for officials will be reviewed by the league and may also be shared with the individual for development and training purposes.
Please be candid. Your feedback, along with the feedback from other coaches, is anonymous and is compiled into an overall summary for the officials. It's used only for education and development, so you never need to worry about retribution. Honest feedback helps our officials grow.
48-Hour Rule
Each team must complete an assessment within 48 hours of each match.
The system will track each assessment and send email reminders until completion.
Please Rate Thoughtfully To Drive Change
Please be as detailed as possible when leaving feedback to provide context and drive change.
Your feedback is valuable! Giving an official "all 3's across the board each week," without any specific feedback, does not help drive development or highlight improvement opportunities.
When rating an official a 1 or 2 (below standard), share how they can improve.
When rating an official a 5 (highest standard), share what made them exceptional.
FAQ's
Below are a few questions that officials have asked us:
-
Great question!
Only one person needs to complete the assessment for each match, but we allow multiple contacts the opportunity to receive the link and submit on behalf of the team if you prefer to share the responsibility from week to week. Once a coach clicks the link, we lock out the other staff to ensure we don't have duplicate assessments submitted for the same match. All team contacts will continue to receive reminders until someone completes it.
Make sure you huddle up with your staff before submitting to ensure you're including everyone's feedback.
If one of your staff accidentally starts an assessment and you want someone else to complete it, just email us at support@fairwhistle.com, and we can quickly reset it so the preferred staff member can complete it.

We offer two ways to complete an assessment:
1- No login needed! Just click the secure link in your e-mail and begin.
2- Log in, select the "competition surveys" tab, and find all incomplete assessments ready for you to start!
You'll need to log in if:
You already submitted the assessment, but realized you need to to submit additional key incidents (scroll up to watch a tutorial video)
You want to continue discussions with the league from a previously submitted key incident

Think of feedback as important information about an official that you'd like documented (positive or constructive). All feedback submitted is being reviewed and used for educational and compliance purposes, but you will not get a response to these within the app.
A key incident is a description of an incident that you'd like the league to review and respond to you about (i.e., safety or venue concern, abuse, missed call, disputed call etc). When a key incident is submitted to FairWhistle's Key Incident Workflow, the league is alerted. When the league responds to your concern, you'll be alerted via email to log in to view our comments. Once there is a resolution, the incident will be marked "resolved".

After answering the questions in each section, the last page of the assessment is a review page where you can make quick edits if you need to adjust any responses or ratings. After confirming everything looks good, you'll select "submit" at the bottom of the screen.
Immediately following a successful submission, you'll see a confirmation page and you’ll receive an email summary of your responses. You can also login to review your previous responses.
If you receive a reminder email days after your match, you have not successfully submitted the assessment.

If you want to make changes to an assessment you've already submitted, email us at support@fairwhistle.com, and we can quickly reopen it for you.

If you have a coaching staff change or simply want someone else on staff to help complete assessments, email support@fairwhistle.com.
We can remove staff and add someone new. We'll just need their name, e-mail, and role.
